Bobby Interviewed by Daniel Schweiger for upcoming Blu-ray release


Bobby was interviewed by film music journalist Daniel Schweiger at Jim Kunz’s LA studio for an upcoming UK Blu-ray/soundtrack release of a certain Stuart Gordon film (details coming soon!).
The Open Orbit Orchestra plays “Live at Last Name”
The Open Orbit Orchestra performed two extended sets of original music at Last Name Brewing in Upland on Sept. 30th for their “Live at Last Name” series. Described as encompassing Funk, Rock, Latin, Folk, Jazz, Cinematic Sounds and being driven by mad groove Bass and Drums, the band brings together several renowned Southern California musicians:
John Avila (Oingo Boingo) on bass, Marc Doten (Double Naught Spy Car) on keys, Greg Ellis (Mickey Hart’s Planet Drum) on percussion, David Markowitz (Boss Knob) on violin, Raul Pacheco (Ozomatli) on electric guitar, Denny Weston Jr. (KT Tunstall) on drums, and Bobby Johnston floating around on a couple of different instruments.

“Shopping Cart People” wins two awards at the Docs Without Borders film festival
Duffy Hecht’s documentary profile of homelessness on the Central Coast won two Excellence Awards at the Docs Without Borders Film Festival this summer. One award was for the Social Issues category and one was for Best Original Score!
The Olean Public Library hosts Bobby for an author event

Bobby was the guest for an author talk at the Olean Public Library, Wednesday, July 20th. The evening included Bobby reading from his book, “The Saint I Ain’t”, as well as signing copies and hosting a Q and A session. Books were on sale with all proceeds donated to the Library. Bobby Johnston and Pete Gilroy return to Catalina Island to welcome summer with Jason Berk.


Bobby and Pete Gilroy were joined by Jason Berk for two nights of beachfront fun at Luau Larry’s on Catalina Island, June 24th and 25th. Pete flew out from NY to slap the tubs and Jason got his wiki wacked for the first time!
