The OPEN ORBIT ORCHESTRA returned from a year-long hiatus to perform two outdoor concerts as part of the “Music on the Mountain” series at Adams’ Pack Station in Chantry flats – May 29th, and June 26th, 2025. For the pair of shows, the OoO welcomed some fantastic friends as guest musicians, including Joey De Leon Jr. (percussion), Kaitlin Wolfberg (violin), and Greg Ellis (percussion).
The Open Orbit Orchestra is: John Avila (Oingo Boingo) on bass, Marc Doten (Double Naught Spy Car) on keys, Raul Pacheco (Ozomatli) on electric guitar, Denny Weston Jr. (KT Tunstall) on drums, and film-composer Bobby Johnston on acoustic guitar.
The OoO delivers a sound which has been described as encompassing Funk, Rock, Latin, Folk, Jazz, and Cinematic Sounds, while being driven by mad groove Bass and Drums.
